About Us
Child of God Scholé exists to provide a restful, life-giving education rooted in the Charlotte Mason philosophy for Catholic and Christian homeschooling families. We seek to cultivate an atmosphere of Truth, Beauty, and Goodness in community, where children are formed as whole persons made in the image of God.
- Child of God Scholé is:
- Christ-centered — nurturing a love of God and reverence for His creation, with prayer and worship at the heart of our time together.
- Faithful to Charlotte Mason — offering a feast of subjects including nature study, picture study, hymns, folk songs, poetry, handicrafts, and living books, all in a spirit of scholé—holy leisure.
- Welcoming and ecumenical — rooted in the Catholic tradition while honoring the unity of Christians; we aim to be a place of mutual respect and shared love for a rich, faith-infused education.
- Community-oriented — supporting families and building friendships among children and parents alike through shared learning, service, and celebration.
Meet Our Team
Danielle Miller serves as the Director and Upper Form Lead at Child of God Scholé. A Charlotte Mason homeschool mother for two years, Danielle has founded two co-ops and led three Mother’s book clubs focused on Charlotte Mason’s philosophy of education. She also provides consulting for families seeking to implement the Charlotte Mason method in their own homes. Danielle is passionate about helping parents reclaim a vision of education rooted in truth, beauty, and goodness. She is a Secular Carmelite, drawing deeply from the Church’s contemplative tradition in her home and community life. Danielle and her family are parishioners at St. Mary of the Rockies in Bailey, CO.
Candess Carris serves as Lower Form Co-Lead at Child of God Scholé. She is a Colorado native, wife, and mother of two who has a deep love for birds, mushrooms, nature, the beauty of God’s creation, and His Word. She has embraced the Charlotte Mason method of education for the past four years, cultivating a home centered on living books, outdoor exploration, wonder, and meaningful learning experiences that nurture curiosity, character, and a love for God’s creation. Candess can most often be found outside—hiking mountain trails, camping under the stars, birdwatching, or simply soaking in the peace of the outdoors with her family and friends. She is passionate about creating a life rooted in faith, family, and adventure, and alongside her husband and children she serves in her local church family, ChristLife Church, where community, children’s discipleship, and adult discipleship are close to her heart. Whether reading with her children, exploring nature, or gathered around a campfire with family and friends, she cherishes a simple, intentional life filled with beauty, curiosity, and connection.
